This past weekend was full of sun, family and fun. It was the first weekend that Mr. B has had off in about 2 weeks.
We decided to go to the Clackamas Fair on Saturday. Mr. B loves the to go into the animal barns and see all the kids working so hard. We both think that kids these day do not have the same work ethic as the older generations. It is so sad that kids do not know how to work for anything anymore. Seeing all that hard work from those kids is very rewarding just for the fact that we have some hard workers in the future.
Then it was off to the family BBQ. What a nice time to catch up with the whole family and get excellent food. No matter whose house you go to in Mr. B's family it is a frenzy of wonderful homemade food and we can not forget to mention the desserts.. what a treat! chocolate with cream filling cupcakes with chocolate drizzled on top and vanilla cupcakes with lemon filling... could not just have one :) OH the music "Cuzin Ang" plays is such a delight. What a wonderful family tradition.
Sunday was a day with my side of the family. We went to my moms house and played in the pool. FINALLY, Oregon got the treat of summer. It was so much fun playing Volleyball with my lil sister and getting a tan at the same time. Wonderful London Broil, potatoes, corn and a salad!! way to go mom! Mr. B finally decided to head into the pool and challenged me to a game of Volleyball...of course he won!
I do not know if that is what Mr. B wanted to do on his days off. He did kick and whine everytime we got in the car but when all was said and done I think he had a great time. He still got enough rest to get ready for the grueling work week ahead of him.
Mr. B and I love family traditions. We think it is such a valuable and essential part of growing up. Even though we do not have children of our own. I like to start thinking of ideas to start our own family traditions with in our little family... Any suggestions???
